CEC's EECBG Technical Assistance grant is a comprehensive initiative to provide needed energy efficiency and renewable energy technical assistance services to non-entitlement cities, villages, townships, and counties that have been awarded the State of Michigan EECBG.
Energy Efficiency & Conservation Block Grant (EECBG)
In recent years, Michigan’s non-entitlement communities have struggled due to the ongoing erosion of jobs and taxable property values. As a result, these municipalities have escalated a pattern of disinvestment, with energy-related facility improvements, planning efforts, and community outreach initiatives largely reflecting short term and pressing needs. With the federal passage of 2009 Recovery Act, the EECBG program was funded as a means of providing much needed resources towards initiating local energy efficiency and renewable energy projects and programming.
