The Energy Outlet is a retail and educational space, offering the latest and greatest energy and conservation products. Consumers, contractors, and business owners can access resources and products in order to decrease their energy use, improve their efficiency, and increase their use of clean energy.
Customers will have access to CEC’s own experts, including on-staff commercial and residential energy auditors. Information about energy efficiency incentive programs are also available to visitors.
The result is a one-on-one conversation with each customer who walks in the door, helping each of them meet their own unique needs. From CFL’s to home energy audits to solar information and referrals, the Energy Outlet takes you to the next level.

Free CFLs @ CEC's Energy Outlet
In celebration of the Energy Outlet’s first anniversary, Clean Energy Coalition is offering free ENERGY STAR compact fluorescent lightbulb (CFL) for every incandescent light bulb you bring to our store during the month of July!*
According to the U.S. EPA, replacing one 60W incandescent with a comparable 13W CFL can save your household up to $60 in utility bills over the lifetime of the bulb, reduce your home’s energy usage by 470 kilowatt hours, and create 724 fewer pounds of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere - the equivalent to taking 0.6 cars off the road for one year.
Thanks to the Washtenaw County Weatherization Program, the Energy Outlet is giving out spiral CFLs in 13W (=60W), 20W (=75W), and 23W (=100W) sizes. The Energy Outlet - located at 44 East Cross Street in Ypsilanti’s historic Depot Town - is open Monday through Friday from 12-5 pm.
