Raising Funds for CEC - Electronically!

Clean Energy Coalition has been designated the beneficiary organization on several Facebook Causes, such as Support for Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources (link). Having unrestricted income allows CEC to pursue services that grants don't cover.

CEC Facebook Birthday Cause.jpgSome Facebook users don't just donate - they make a pledge to raise funds.  Recently, Geoff Livingston donated his birthday and raised $656 for CEC.  Other Facebook users have also made the pledge.  Are you on Facebook?  Donate your birthday to raise funds for CEC!

Energy Tips

Did you know?
According to the U.S. Department of Energy, a leak of one drip per second can cost $1/month. By simply repairing leaks in faucets, pipes, and showerheads, you can significantly reduce your water bills. Other DOE recommendations include:

*Purchase an efficient showerhead. If your showerhead predates 1992, you could be using up to 5.5 gallons of water per minute (gpm)! By replacing your showerhead with a flow rate of less than 2.5 gpm, you will save at least three gallons of water for every minute you use your shower.

*A faucet aerator can help you save one gallon per minute or more. When replacing your aerator, bring your old one to a store like the Energy Outlet to ensure a proper fit.

*Purchase an ENERGY STAR® appliance. If you're able, invest in an ENERGY STAR® appliance. Inefficient washing machines, for example, can cost three times as much to operate than energy efficient models. Replacing an old model can result in a lot of savings!
