MTA's services include primary fixed routes, peak period routes, paratransit services, specialized services for the elderly and the operation of thirteen Service Centers, along with intercity bus and Amtrak Rail Stations in Flint. Energy Tips *To prevent heat loss, install heat traps on the water pipes at the water heater. *Insulate at least the first six feet of pipes connected to the water heater. *Lower the thermostat of your water heater to 120°F. *Every three months, drain a quart of water from your water tank to remove sediment. Sediment disrupts heat transfer, lowering the efficiency of your water heater. *Consider purchasing an on-demand or tankless water heater for up to 30% savings (compared to a standard storage tank water heater). *A solar water heater can be a cost-effective way to generate hot water. Available for use in any climate, see if you are eligible for a tax credit or rebate. To learn more, visit the U.S. DOE's website.
