Energy Tips
Did you know?
According to the U.S. Department of Energy, properly air sealing a building's cracks and openings can result in significant heating and cooling savings while improving the building's durability and indoor environment. There are many simple steps one can take, including:
*Detect Air Leaks. A home or office has many hidden air leaks. For a thorough and accurate measurement of the air leakage in your building, utilize a qualified professional for an energy audit, which includes a blower door test.
*Consider Ventilation. Ventilation is important to consider when sealing your home. If not properly ventilated, a building can seal in indoor air pollutants.
*Seal as Needed. Caulk and weatherstripping are two simple products that usually pay for themselves in energy savings within the first year.
