Ann Arbor Climate Action Plan

Clean Energy Coalition teamed up with the City of Ann Arbor to develop a community-wide Climate Action Plan (CAP). Local governments throughout the country developed CAPs to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and prepare for expected climate change impacts.

Ann Arbor’s CAP built on a goal to reduce community-wide GHG emissions by 8% from year 2000 levels by the year 2015. Through a city task force and community engagement process, Clean Energy Coalition helped:

  • Facilitate the City’s adoption of long-term GHG emissions reduction targets;
  • Outline the specific strategies necessary to achieve both immediate and future reduction goals;
  • Develop a meaningful set of metrics to evaluate each recommended GHG mitigation effort;
  • Measure progress on achieving target reductions.
