Ann Arbor Climate Action Plan

Clean Energy Coalition has teamed up with the City of Ann Arbor to develop a community-wide Climate Action Plan (CAP). Local governments throughout the country have developed CAPs to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and prepare for expected climate change impacts.

Ann Arbor’s CAP builds on a recently established goal to reduce community-wide GHG emissions by 8 percent from year 2000 levels by the year 2015. Through a city task force and community engagement process, Clean Energy Coalition will help:

  • Facilitate the City’s adoption of long-term GHG emissions reduction targets;
  • Outline the specific strategies necessary to achieve both immediate and future reduction goals;
  • Develop a meaningful set of metrics to evaluate each recommended GHG mitigation effort;
  • Measure progress on achieving target reductions.

The Ann Arbor community will be engaged throughout the process of drafting the plan, including providing feedback on proposed emissions reduction measures.
