Detroit: 36th District Court

Clean Energy Communities is investing in Detroit’s 36th District Court, one of the largest and busiest courts in the country. Our investments include updating both interior and exterior lighting to more efficient technologies and installing a 20 kW solar photovoltaic system. We are leveraging our investment along with the city’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant and funding from the Detroit Economic Development Corporation to complete $1.7 million in energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades to the facility. We expect the project to have an average payback of 3.5 years, including energy and operational savings.
