Representatives from Clean Energy Coalition, including Executive Director Sean Reed, visited Grand Rapids today to celebrate our partnership with DTE Energy and UBCR to build a new compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station.
As the awardee of approximately $15 million in funding from the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act through the Department of Energy’s Clean Cities program, Clean Energy Coalition is working to create partnerships among a diverse cross-section of Michigan municipalities, non-profits, utilities, and companies — like DTE Energy and UBCR. We’re working to bring these entities together and encourage fleets throughout Michigan to adopt alternative fuels and transportation technologies.
Last year, Clean Energy Coalition partnered with DTE Energy and UBCR and provided a grant totaling nearly $1 million to help build the CNG fueling station in Grand Rapids and one in Wixom, Michigan.
