Exponential Growth Fuels CEC’s Move To A New Office!

Clean Energy Coalition's New Office |
Clean Energy Coalition's growth has led to its recent move to a nearly 6,000-square-foot space on the north side of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Originally built in 1933, the office building has been sustainably renovated by local real estate developer Peter Allen and overlooks the Huron River.
The new office consolidates two spaces from nearby Ypsilanti while providing enough room to allow further expansion. CEC has played a role as a provider of local jobs, something executive director Sean Reed is proud of, and feels is "important in Michigan. I intend to keep pushing that as much as I can," he noted. Additionally, the single office will provide better means for communication and collaboration, as well as better public exposure and visibility, as it is passed by approximately 25,000 cars daily.
BetterBuildings Sweeps Michigan Neighborhoods
Nine Michigan neighborhoods are working with Clean Energy Structures to coordinate energy efficiency sweeps over the next two years through the BetterBuildings for Michigan program. Clean Energy Structures is coordinating efforts to plan and carry out residential efficiency upgrades in each of these neighborhood sweeps. The nine non-entitlement communities working with CEC include DeWitt Township, Wyandotte, Marquette, Traverse City, St. Joseph County, and Bath Township.
The program is designed to create a vibrant, growing and sustainable market for high quality, deep energy efficiency retrofits on residential buildings across Michigan. Additionally, BetterBuildings for Michigan:
-
Provides access to incentives and affordable loans for efficiency upgrades;
-
Engages communities throughout the state;
-
Creates jobs and drives economies of scale; and
-
Tests incentive and marketing strategies that drive demand for energy efficiency.
BetterBuildings for Michigan uses a community approach to deliver energy efficiency improvements for homes and businesses by providing access to incentives and affordable loans. The program is supported by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and developed by the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth; Michigan Saves; the City of Grand Rapids; the Economic Development Corporation of the City of Detroit; and the Southeast Michigan Regional Energy Office.
